How to reset a user or learner MFA status
Note: This guide only applies to clients who have MFA set up by Cognassist. You will require client admin rights to perform this process.
How to reset a Users MFA status
- Log into the platform and go to the 'Users' dashboard.
- Select the user by clicking on their name to open their profile.
- At the top right hand side of the profile click the option to 'Reset Multi-factor authentication'.
- Exit user profile.
- Inform the user you have reset their MFA status and advise the user to remove the old connection to Cognassist they have in their authentication app. Your IT department should be able to support with this if there are any issues. Following the reset the user will be prompted to set up a new MFA connection when logging in.

How to reset a learners MFA status
- Log into the platform and go to the 'Manage Learners' dashboard.
- Browse and select the learner, click on the learner name to enter the learners profile.
- Above the learners details click the option to 'Reset Multi-factor authentication'.
- Exit the learner profile.
- Inform the learner you have reset their MFA status and advise the learner to remove the old connection to Cognassist they have in their authentication app. Your IT department should be able to support with this if there are any issues. Following the reset the learner will be prompted to set up a new MFA connection when logging in.
